Avoid Spending A Fortune To Make A Fortune

Posted By: Rick Kettner on Wednesday, April 14, 2010

This post was inspired by something I read on the “Warrior Forums” today. Someone was asking what they should do with their last $150 to start a business online. Apparently this person had spent around $9000 on various courses, and had not yet had success. I’m not sure if they were just trying to make a point, or if this was a true story. Either way, this would not be the first time something like this has happened.

Far too many entrepreneurs are spending a small fortune in order to learn how to make money online. It doesn’t have to be this way. In fact, you can start your online business for next to nothing. I actually believe it’s your “lowest-risk” business opportunity, but only if you do it right.

The Internet Has Changed The Game

The Internet is revolutionary for business because it’s inexpensive to get started. You can have a website up and running for as little as $5/month. You don’t need employees, office space, or a big investment in infrastructure. In fact, I think it’s safe to say that starting an online business is considerably less risky than offline alternatives.

Unfortunately, people seem to take an offline approach when starting an online business. They start by saying, “well, I’ll probably need a few thousand dollars to start a business”, and then they find ways to spend that money. Needless to say, there are plenty of Internet marketing gurus that are ready and willing to take advantage of this mentality.
